Challenge

The main challenge was to create an immersive and engaging digital experience that would capture the essence of the real-life Wimbledon Hill and convey the excitement and festive atmosphere of the tournament from the confornt of their own homes. The design had to be highly user-centered, ensuring that the experience was intuitive and easy to navigate for all users, regardless of their technical proficiency. The design also needed to incorporate a range of interactive elements such as mini-games and trivia quizzes, as well as providing access to live match streams and player interviews. In addition to this, the project had the unique challenge of incorporating a multiplayer aspect, allowing users to engage with each other during the tournament and visit each other’s virtual blankets to compare their earned items.

Process

I conducted user research and analyzed user behavior to better understand the needs and preferences of tennis fans. Based on my research findings, I created wireframes and prototypes of the digital experience, taking into account both the aesthetic design and the user flow.

I collaborated closely with the development team to ensure that the design was feasible and could be implemented efficiently. The project also presented the unique challenge of incorporating a multiplayer aspect, where users could interact with each other in the tournament and visit each other’s virtual blankets to compare won items. To tackle this challenge, I make sure that I have regular meetings with the development team to ensure a seamless multiplayer experience. Throughout the process, I conducted user testing to gather feedback and make iterative improvements. The end result is a fully immersive and engaging digital experience that captures the essence of the iconic Wimbledon Hill, while also providing a unique and exciting way for tennis fans to experience the tournament from anywhere in the world.
